Lincoln, Neb. —The Nebraska Water Center, part of the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute, will commence its Spring Seminar Series with a Feb. 2 discussion at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Glenn Johnson, former general manager of the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District, and Wynn Hjermstad, community development manager for the City of Lincoln, will host a discussion on Lincoln’s Antelope Valley Project from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Hardin Hall.
Under the theme “Hydrotourism and Economic Development in Nebraska,” the Spring Seminar Series will be held in the auditorium of Hardin Hall at 3:30 p.m. every other Wednesday. The events will also be livestreamed and available to those who register at go.unl.edu/2022sss.

- Feb. 16: “Norfolk Johnson Park and North Fork River Revitalization,” Kevin Kruse, river designer, JEO Consulting Firm; Steve Rames, city engineer, City of Norfolk
- March 2: “Hydrotourism and the Nebraska Outdoor Enthusiast,” Chris Chizinski, associate professor, School of Natural Resources; Dean Rosenthal, administrator, Fisheries Division, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission
- March 23: “Deep Dive into Lake McConaughy,” Ken Schilz, former Nebraska state senator; Mary Wilson, co-director of Keith County Area Development; Jim Swenson, deputy director of Nebraska Game and Parks
- April 6: “Indigenous Perspectives on Missouri River,” Shane Doyle, educational consultant, Crow Tribe of Montana
- April 20: “Panel: Ecotourism and Ecology along Niobrara River,” Mike Murphy, general manager, Middle Niobrara NRD; Matt Sprenger, project manager, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
