LINCOLN, Neb. — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professional Golf Management program is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its first ever Patriot Golf Day and Lincoln Community Golf Event Sept. 12.

Spots still are available for the event, for which the PGM program is partnering with its home course, Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln. The event will be a four-person scramble; golfers may sign up as a single, two-person team or four-person team. The cost will be $125 per player, which includes the day of golf with cart, lunch and a seat at the luncheon. Part of the entry fee will be donated directly to the Folds of Honor Foundation, a tax deductible donation.

Golfers also may purchase a seat at the luncheon for a reduced price. The event will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Wilderness Ridge.

Sponsorships also still are available. Hole sponsorships are $125 and other sponsorship opportunities are offered.

Alan Baquet, director of the PGM program, said this event is the premier event of the fall semester; it will allow students to gain experience in tournament operations, while creating a golf event for the Lincoln community and raising money for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Guest speaker at the luncheon will be Major Dan Rooney, a PGA professional, F-16 pilot and founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation.

More information, including registration, is available at pgm.unl.edu or by emailing tboulanger@huskers.unl.edu.
