About Jenna Hefley:
I was born and raised in northwest Iowa. I received my bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in Fort Dodge, Iowa while working at Iowa Central Community College as an admissions representative. Then moved to Kansas City and worked for the University of Missouri as an academic advisor for about six years. My family and I moved to Lincoln this past year and are loving it.

What is your position at UNL?
Academic services coordinator in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering.

What drew you to UNL?
My prior work experience has all been in the educational setting and I love working with students. Although there are other education institutions here in Lincoln, I had my heart set on getting a position at UNL. It’s a great university to be at.

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?
Working with students on a daily basis and assisting them in achieving their career goals and dreams.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is that I had the honor of managing the student ambassador program at Iowa Central and starting a new student ambassador program at both the University of Missouri and UNL.

What is something that most people don't know about you?
I grew up in a town of 200 and my graduating class had only 18 students.

What is your life like outside of work?
I have a wonderful husband, daughter, Jordyn, who is 2, and another little bundle of joy on the way, due to arrive in February! I enjoy spending time with family, being a mommy, and doing any outdoor activities.
