What is your position at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

Pre-Vet Advisor

What drew you to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

I previously worked at UNL from 2008 to 2015 and really enjoyed my time here. It is exciting to work at a research institution where there are always new discoveries being made!

What aspect of working in an educational setting do you enjoy the most?

I love that the work we do has such a positive impact on students’ lives. Our graduates go on to do great things which, in turn, has a positive impact on our state and society as a whole!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

It’s the little things that give me the most satisfaction, such as when I calm the anxieties of an incoming freshman and they say, “I feel better now!” Or when a student gives me a hug when they come in for their final degree check. That is the best type of job satisfaction!

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

My bachelor’s degree is in criminal justice.

What is your life like outside of work?

My husband, Stu, and I both grew up on a farm, so we enjoy being “backyard farmers” on our small acreage outside of Lincoln. I have three grown step-children. My step-daughter is a physical therapist in Arkansas, my middle step-son works in the financial industry in Florida and my oldest step-son and his wife work at Mizzou. We have two grandsons, Ryker who will be 4 in October and Ryden who is 17 months old. Even though they're born-and-bred Nebraskan Grandpa isn’t thrilled with them being raised in Tiger Territory, they are the joy of our lives!
