Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

Since my dad worked for UNL ever since I was very young, I had a lot of exposure to the campus. I considered a few out of state schools, but it felt wrong to leave an opportunity like UNL right in my home state.

What is your favorite thing about University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

Honestly, I cannot get enough of Morril Hall. I love seeing their traveling exhibits, the creativity in an exhibit that helps people understand difficult concepts, seeing my professors speak about their passions in the 4th floor exhibits, but most of all I love seeing other people experience the museum. That being said, you should check it out!

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

The University's diversity and inclusion has been an outstanding influence in expanding my world view. It reminds me that Lincoln is just a slice of the world, not the whole.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class so far has been BIOS 121. I have always loved biology and this class made me excited for all the excellent biology biased upper level classes I will be taking.

What are your plans post-graduation?

I plan to enter veterinary school after I graduate. I might take a gap year between undergrad and vet school, just to get some more animal experience to make me more confident in the coming years.

What’s life like outside of school?

Very busy. I am a member of the pre-vet club here on campus, work part time for a veterinary clinic, and I am a second year UCARE scholar at the herpetology lab here on campus. After all that (plus studying), I still make time to spend time with my bearded dragon, watch the Great British Baking Show, and have a cup of tea.

  • UCARE Scholar
  • Husker Power
