Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

I was originally torn between the University of Wyoming and UNL. I changed my mind after visiting Lincoln and spending some time on east campus. I ultimately decided it was a better fit for me and provided me a few more opportunities. I think I made the right decision.

What is your favorite thing about University of Nebraska–Lincoln?

I love the culture on East Campus. It’s a lot smaller than city campus and feels more like a community.

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

I have met and befriended people from all of the Midwest and all over the world. I never dreamed I’d be partnered up for plant science labs with a young man from Rwanda and the friendship that would grow from it and learning of his experiences.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class has been Farm Commodity and Merchandising. This class was completely new to me and I found it very intriguing. It gave me an inside look to what my older brother has been doing with his job.

 What are your plans post-graduation?

I plan on going into the banking industry. I’ve also always had a passion for agriculture the people who have dedicated their lives to it. I think becoming an Ag Lender could be a great fit that would allow me the opportunity to work with those people I admire.

What’s life like outside of school?

This being the last semester of college definitely has made outside of school very interesting. I now work as a credit analysis at a bank in South Lincoln. I work 4 days a week building and expanding my knowledge of the industry in hopes to further add value to myself to better help my transition into a full member of the banking industry upon graduation. I’m trying to focus on what’s still important while also enjoying my last semester with my friends before we all go our separate ways.
