Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I came to Lincoln because of my love for agriculture. I’ve grown up around it and want to continue to be a part of the industry and I felt that Lincoln and the CASNR program was the best place for me to pursue my dream.

What is your favorite thing about University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

My favorite thing about the university is Husker football. Growing up in Nebraska it was always a special day when you could go to a Nebraska football game, and now I can walk by the stadium any day and have the opportunity to go to all of the home games.

How has diversity and inclusive excellence played a role in your CASNR experience?

So far in my time with CASNR I have worked in several groups during labs and recitations with some great people, learning a lot about them and learning a lot from them.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class so far has been my Agronomic Plant Science Lab because of the knowledge gained about corn and soybean growth and development, along with hands-on experience with different crops.

What are your plans post-graduation?

My plans post-graduation are to find a job as an agronomist, hopefully around this area.

What’s life like outside of school?

My life outside of school is a little bit of relaxing playing video games or watching TV, but the majority is spent outside playing golf, hunting & fishing or working on my family farm.

Caleb has received the following scholarship: Nels Paulson Scholarship.
