Why did you decide to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I decided to come to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln because of the agricultural opportunities it provides through CASNR and the small-town feel that East Campus holds.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

My favorite thing about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is the atmosphere that it has. No matter if I am in Memorial Stadium or walking to class on East Campus, I know I am right where I am supposed to be.

What about diversity and inclusion is important to you when you think about your CASNR experience?

When I think about my CASNR experience, diversity and inclusion is important to me because it allows me to improve my leadership skills so I can be a leader for everyone around me.

Exposure to cultural differences is a huge part of college. What activity have you recently participated in that is different from what you are used to in your culture? This could be something you read, listened to, watched, eaten or otherwise taken part in. What did you learn from this activity?

I am currently enrolled in ALEC 466 with Dr. Fagan. This class covers Leadership and Diversity in Organizations and Communities. Just after one class, I have already learned so much about diversity, inclusion, and the importance of understanding and accepting who you are as well as others. I am excited to see how I can grow in my leadership through this class!

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?

My favorite class I have taken so far would be EAEP 101. This introduction course to the Engler Entrepreneurship Program allowed me to think about my education from a different perspective and helped me decide what I wanted the rest of my college career to look like.

What are your plans post-graduation?

My post-graduation plans include being an advocate for the agriculture industry through communications. Despite this broad plan, I am confident that I will end up in a position where the agriculture industry needs me the most.

What's life like outside of school?

Outside of school I enjoy going to concerts, spending time with my corgis when I travel home, and being with friends.

What scholarships, if any, have you received?

I have received the Dodie Acklie Nakajima Scholarship and the College Access Mentee Scholarship.
