IANR Media, Nebraska Rural Radio Association Continue Market Journal Partnership; Steve White Joins Broadcast Team

The Market Journal partnership between the Nebraska Rural Radio Association (NRRA) and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) continues to grow. Longtime Nebraska agricultural journalist Steve White joined the NRRA as the KRVN Farm Director and will contribute regular content to the weekly ag media program, further strengthening the collaboration.

White’s first story will debut this week and features the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute, a premier leadership experience for high school juniors and seniors interested in agriculture. The story highlights the energy, passion and potential of Nebraska’s next generation of agricultural leaders.

“We’re excited to add Steve’s voice to Market Journal,” said Bill Dodd, Market Journal producer.

“His deep ties to rural communities and passion for ag storytelling are a perfect fit for our audience.”

White brings more than 25 years of experience reporting on agriculture and rural issues for local news stations across Nebraska. He grew up in a small South Dakota community, seeing firsthand the impact of agriculture on rural America, and has long had a passion for telling stories that matter to producers and rural families.

“I’m proud to be part of a team that shares my love for Nebraska agriculture,” White said. “I look forward to shining a light on the people, programs and places that make our rural communities strong.”

The collaboration between IANR Media and NRRA to produce Market Journal began in 2022 as a way to share more ag-focused content with producers across Nebraska. Under the partnership, Rural Radio Network broadcasters contribute as hosts and reporters, while IANR Media continues to produce and edit the weekly 30-minute television program.

“This partnership brings together two trusted ag media organizations, and we’re proud to deliver content that’s both relevant and reliable for Nebraska producers,” said Bryce Doeschot, host of Market Journal and operations manager for the Rural Radio Network.

“With the state’s largest team of agriculture broadcasters, we’re covering the industry from border to border—bringing timely stories to our viewers through the talents of Alex Makovicka, Chad Moyer, Rebel Sjeklocha, and now Steve White.”

Market Journal is produced by Nebraska Extension in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The weekly show airs statewide on Nebraska Public Media (7:00 a.m. CT) and online, delivering research-based insight and updates for farmers, ranchers and ag professionals.

Funding support for Market Journal is provided by the Nebraska Corn Board and the Nebraska Soybean Board. For more information, visit marketjournal.unl.edu.
