Why did you decide to come to UNL?
I have wanted to be a Husker since I was a little girl, and it has always felt like I've belonged at UNL since my first visit.

What is your favorite thing about UNL?
Other than our football, my advisor and the faculty in the School of Natural Resources are my favorite. They are all extremely helpful and nice people; from helping me pick out classes, to figuring out summer internships and helping me plan for my current semester abroad in Australia. I wouldn't be where I am now without the help and encouragement from the SNR faculty.

What is your favorite class you have taken so far and why?
I absolutely loved NRES 101: Natural Resources Orientation. NRES 101 was amazing because we learned about the different careers and pathways from professionals and SNR professors in the fisheries and wildlife field. We also went on multiple field trips to give us practical experience in what we could do with our major. My favorite trip in this class was fish shocking; it was a great way to learn a way to collect data on fish and because we caught an 8 pound catfish.

What are your plans post-graduation?
After graduation, I plan on working for game and parks or the U.S. Forest Service for a year or two. Then, going to graduate school to prepare for getting into the wildlife conservation or wildlife management field.

What is your life like outside of school?

I'm currently on a semester abroad in Australia so life outside school includes traveling around western Australia and immersing myself in the Australian culture. This includes going to the beach, eating steak pies and fish & chips, watching the footy and rugby finals, and hanging out with some awesome Australian friends. Otherwise, back home in Nebraska I am either working, hanging out with friends or playing intramural softball.
