Murd Holland, executive associate for the IANR Vice Chancellor’s Office, on April 17 received the 2013 IANR Exemplary Service Award for a consistent high level of service, “year in and year out.”

In the fast-paced environment of the vice chancellor’s office, nominators wrote that Holland juggles and successfully completes multiple tasks while ensuring her administrators are “where they should be, armed with the information they need to focus on the current priorities to be accomplished.”

Having served under three vice chancellors, Holland is commended for her innate ability to know what her supervisors need, “often even before they know,” and for her dedication, integrity, judgment, selflessness, accuracy, quick smile and wry sense of humor.

Nominators commend her organizational skills, historical perspective, remembering everyone with whom she interacts, fluent knowledge of all UNL policies and procedures, and being the “glue that keeps the office together and meeting its obligations.”

Holland joined the university in January, 1988. She received an IANR Outstanding Employee Award in 1990 and an NU Board of Regents Kudos Award in 1996.

Award recipients receive cash awards and certificates. Application materials for these and other IANR awards are at ianr.unl.edu/staff-awards.
